    HOW IT WORKS

    Calculation method

At each month-end, accrue APR/12 interest then apply the same capped payment budget on both paths. Apply the promotional APR only for its entered duration. Compare cumulative interest plus transfer fees at a common horizon.

    KEEP IN MIND

    Assumptions & limits

    • Example: 1,000 transferred at a 3% financed fee starts at 1,030; at 0% APR and a 100 budget the final eleventh payment is 30.
    • No new purchases, daily compounding, late fees, lost grace periods, changing minimum payments or eligibility assumptions. A first cost crossover may reverse after promotional expiry.
    • Basis: User-entered values.
    • Basis: Standard fixed-payment and time-value-of-money formulas.

Source/rule review year: Not applicable — general mathematical model.
